A New Record!!!

This past Sunday a few friends and I went to a little artshow in downtown Rochester.
Everything was amazing and very inspiring. There were people who made silk ties, clothes, bags, journals, jewelry, henna art and lots of other stuff. But one thing that really caught my eye was this lady who had taken old records and softened them with heat and made bowls out of them. So it got me thinking of all kinds of things you can make with them. And it just so happened that a lady at church gave me a huge box of old records because i had taken an interest in them.
So here are a few of my own creations:

This is a cool bracelet I made by softening and cutting one of the records. It's open on the bottom so you can stretch it just enough to put your hand in it.
This bowl is my favorite, You can use it by the door to throw your keys in or keep other little things in it. I'm trying to figure out a way to seal up the little hole in the bottom so you could fill it with dip or something.

This is a book stand that's great for the recipe books.

Here is a serving tray that's perfect for Cheese & Crackers or other little things like that.

Those are the ones I've made so far, but there are a million things you could make with these.
Let me know if you think of any other ideas and I'll try it out!!

Love ya!!!

U LIKE?

So I decided it was time to update the blog and give it a make over. I had a great budget of $278,927. Half of it went to the header font (got a good deal too) then the rest of the $139,463 we spent on... a jacuzzi helicopter. That cost quite a bit... more than I thought it would. But let me know whatcha think aboot it. I'm shooting a wedding today so that will be fun!!! I'll post the trailer after it's edited on here and a few other places. Anyhoozle i'm all sweaty from my run so i need to go take a shower and get ready for the wedding. Lovez Youz All!!!

Update

Hi everyone! So much has been happening and going on its' been forever since a update.
To start i have official graduated from High School!
It's very exciting and I'm looking forward to the future.
People have been bugging me and keep asking me "Where are you going to college?!?!". SO I'm here to tell you all what going on. I am NOT going to college this fall, and here are a few reasons why:

1, This year at church has been our first year where we haven't been doing major remodeling projects and have focused our energy into the ministry and people, now that we have a building to function in. And I'll tell you what... IT'S EXCITING!!!!! We have been in the 115ish mark in attendance on Sunday AM and our other services are growing. People are energetic and looking forward to more growth. To be honest i don't want to leave!!! I LOVE going to church and serving, worshiping, learning and fellowship.
There is a vision and we are pressing towards the mark.

2, I've started my Wedding Cinematography business, "Palette Films" is the name and I'm already booking weddings, in fact i'm gearing up for a wedding to shoot this Friday.

So those are some things going on, I am going with Julia, Mateo (Church Music Director) and Grayson (friend from church) are going to Music College.
It's a 2 day seminar run by Ron Hamilton (AKA Patch the Pirate)
Then there is teen camp in August which is going to be AWESOME!!! Eddie Wyatt, CT Townsend, Tony Shirley are just a few preachers to name a few.
But I'll be posting more stuff soon.

Love You All,
MYKE G

Life is but a vapor.

For those of you who have not heard the news i shall tell it now.
Last Sunday 2 young ladies from PCC were vacationing in Maine.
One of them was Carrisa Ireland, daughter of Mike and Robin Ireland of whom my family have been friends with for to many year to count. The Ireland family are missionarries to Ukraine. The other girl was Irina McEntee who attended PCC with Carrisa. The McEntee family lives in Georgia and invited Carrisa to go on a vacation to their summer home in Maine. This past Sunday while in Maine the girls decided to go Kayaking to a small island that was less than a mile away from the island that they were staying at. Irina has grown up kayaking and is very experienced. The weather was 74 and balmy, no wind and very peaceful, after arriving on the island they were last seen by Irina's parents pushing their Kayaks onto the beach of the island. While on the island 23 MPH winds kicked up and the temperature dropped. The tide started going out and teh girls while coming back were struggling, Carrisa kayak capsized and couldn't get back in. The water was 48 degrees. Irina knew that if she jumped into the water she would also not be able to get back into the kayak but jumped in anyway. According to reports the water was so cold that the girls died with half in hour, they were found the next morning after search parties looked all night. If you would like to read an official news report, copy the link: http://www.kjonline.com/news/death-of-2-kayakers_justa-sadthing__2010-05-17.html

I grew up with Carrisa and Mikie Ireland for a while. I loved hanging out with them when they came state side, Carrisa was never without a big smile and happy heart.
She was a true example of someone given fully to God, she was in her 3rd year at PCC for Elementary Education and was working 3 jobs for college. She never considered herself American and loved the people of Ukraine and planned to go back and be a teacher. Last night my mom, dad and myself greeted the Ireland family at the airport and it was rough to say the least. There was a midsized crowd there as well.
For those of you who don't know this but 20 years ago my mother and Mrs. Ireland met in the nursery at First Bible Baptist Church and both had children the same age, Carrisa and my brother David. David died when he was 2 and a half years old with his cousin Shayna who was 4 at the time in a drowning. My mom has had a very hard week. She said that all the hurt comes back from so long ago. Our family has known many close families who have lost children and I could name about 4 or 5 right now. Please continue to pray for the Ireland and McEntee family, the memorial service for Irina is on Tuesday and is in Georgia and Carrissa's memorial service is this coming Thursday.
Thanks God they are both in heaven and we shall see them again.

THE ROOM

This is a video of a drama that I produced for our youth rally, I built the set, created the audio track and directed the whole thing PHEW....
The Girl is played by Jesenia Vazquez and Jesus is played by Luke Curley.
Not going to say much about it, you just have to watch it.
